In 1978, a friend and I improvised a device to help him remove and replace the hardtop from his new Mercedes 450 SL. He was able to safely remove the hardtop from the car without the attaching hardware touching his paint or weather stripping. Design and function of our hardtop hoists have become more efficient in the last quarter century and the evolution of that first concept has brought about hoists for virtually all removable hardtops.

Since we have more experience with handling removable hardtops, we feel we make the most efficient hardtop hoists available. With any of these systems, one person alone can safely and easily remove their hardtop and leave it suspended for as long as necessary without fear of damage to paint, weather stripping, or structural integrity.

Every hardtop hoist we produce is hand fabricated, one at a time, right here on the central coast of California in the middle of the continent. We do not import large containers of generic, one-size-fits-all products. We can proudly say "Made In America".
